McQueen Legal is once again participating in the annual Will Aid campaign, after raising over £6000 for charity last year. Throughout November, we will waive our fee for writing a basic Will, and instead we invite our clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid. This does cover only a basic Will so, if it is more complicated, there could be additional cost.
Will Aid is an annual fundraising campaign involving nine of the UK’s leading charities helping vulnerable people in the UK and around the world. The charities include the British Red Cross, NSPCC, Age UK, Action Aid, Christian Aid, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trocaire.
Having a Will is so important. Your will tells everyone what should happen to your money, possessions and property after you die. If you don’t leave a Will, the law decides how your estate is passed on – and this might not be in line with your wishes. In addition to potentially helping reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax that might be payable on the value of your property and money you leave behind when you die, having a Will in place makes a stressful and emotional time easier for family and friends.
With Will Aid, everyone benefits. You get a professionally drawn-up Will and peace of mind, while the charities receive much-needed donations for their vital work. Appointments are filling up fast so if you would like to participate in the scheme this year and prepare your Will then get in touch with Dot Mullally today on 0131 622 1771.
